Curious about Museum Programs?
Activities include:

Sunday Samplers

Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting are all about developing skills and putting those skills to work throughout your life. In that spirit, the North Star Museum is implementing a series of Sunday Samplers to help people of all ages learn new skills or rediscover old skills. As advertised in the title, these programs take place on Sundays – in the afternoon, more specifically. The programs are all free of charge and will be presented by experts in the field.

A Call to History

Held on odd years, this is the Museum's fundraising event that provides funding for our exceptional collections, exhibits, and educational programs. It alternates years with the Founders Hall event. Join other like-minded people for breakfast (or lunch), hear motivational speakers, tour the Museum, join the Museum!

Cooking Outdoors

Available for groups to schedule, participants learn the art cooking outdoors using Dutch ovens, box cooking, and pie irons. Food and cooking pots, pans, pie irons are provided.

Escape Room

The Museum’s Escape Room, with its Egyptian theme, may be a perfect activity for the groups you work with. You could sign up just for the Escape Room or you could package your trip to the Museum with a tour of the gallery and a visit to the Escape Room. Visits to the Escape Room are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. The cost for the Escape Room is $15 per person. Groups can pay at the door based on actual attendance. Good luck making your escape -- you'll need it!

Founders Hall

Held on even years, this event celebrates visionaries, leaders, and volunteers who have etched their mark on the legacy of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the North Star Museum.
  • Founders: These are the individuals who have played a pivotal role in advancing the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or the North Star Museum. Founders are the architects, visionaries who have significantly influenced the creation, innovation, and direction of these institutions over an extensive period.
  • Builders: The second category acknowledges the financial patrons and
  • influencers who have left a meaningful impact on one of the Scouting institutions. Builders are the transformative leaders, adept at turning the vision of Founders into a tangible reality through their financial support and gifts of influence.
  • Trailblazers: These are the unsung heroes— the grassroots volunteers who bring to life the ideas initiated by Founders and Builders. Often referred to as "Red Jacket Scouters" or "Green Bloods," Trailblazers deliver these ideas directly to youth, embodying the spirit of service and leadership.

Jamboree on the Air (JOTA)/
Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI)

A full day of merit badges for Boy Scouts, including the radio merit badge. JOTA/JOTI uses amateur radio to link Scouts and ham operators around the world, around the nation, and in your own community.

Merit Badge Workshops for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts

The Museum recruits badge counselors to lead workshops that assist Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to earn requirements for a variety of badges. Workshops are held throughout the year.

Annual Skunk Reunion

Long-time members of the Museum, Boy Scouting, or Girl Scouting get together for lunch at Fred C. Andersen Scout Camp in Houlton, WI (just across the river from Stillwater). Other activities include reminiscing good times, meeting new friends, and learning who will be the newest Skunk of the Year.

Derby Night at the Museum

An adults-only program where you can fulfill your childhood dreams of racing your own pinewood derby car. If you can't make your own car, don't worry. We have a selection of donated cars. Besides racing, other activities include derby hat contest, beverages and hors d'oeurvres, silent auction, and fun, fun, fun!

Annual Holiday Hop and Bazaar

Get to know the North st. Paul downtown area. Visit the shops, along with the Museum. Make an ornament, purchase handmade gifts or grab a bite to eat from Cub Scouts selling hot food and baked goods. It's a great way to get in the spirit of the holiday season!

We hope you visit us soon!
