Volunteer Development Assistant
Volunteer Position Description

Duties:

• Logging donations and preparing acknowledgements for the Executive Director’s signature
• Conducting grant research
• Assisting the Executive Director in preparing grant proposals
• Assembling and mailing grant proposals, ensuring that all deadlines were met
• Act as point-of-contact with Museum members, providing information or referring the contact as needed
• Work with members or donors on-site at Museum
• Assist in staffing fundraising events that the Museum might have
• Assisting Executive Director with training for fundraising volunteers

Standards:

• Contacts with prospective donors, foundation officials, or corporate officials must be professional
• Responses to all inquiries must be timely; referrals must be made in a timely fashion
• Attention to detail a must, as are writing and research skills
• Deadlines must be met

Commitment:

• The Development Assistant should be willing to commit a minimum of 8 hours per week to this volunteer position
