North Star Exhibits at 2004 National Order of the Arrow Conference
![]() Every two years, Arrowmen from across the country gather on the campus of a major university for the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC). This conference is Scouting's second-largest national program event after the National Jamboree. These gatherings draw over 6,500 Arrowmen, traveling from as far away as Europe and Asia, for five days of training, fun, and fellowship. With each conference, NOAC becomes more diversified, more fun, and more exciting. The Center for History is a growing part of NOAC and this year included the Order of the Arrow Museum, training for participants, history roadshow, original ceremony re-enactment, and the National OA Historical and Preservation Project. The Order of the Arrow Museum displays hundreds of items that include, but are not limited to: the sashes, memorabilia, photos, patches, and documents throughout the history of the Order of the Arrow and Scouting. The Museum also has a complete collection of all the Lodge flaps and Council strip patches. For the third time at NOAC, the Museum featured several fully uniformed mannequins provided by the North Star Museum of Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting . The mannequins wore different Scouting uniforms from throughout the history of the Boy Scouts. North Star also provided displays of Scout handbooks, canteens, nceckerchief slides and many other items from the history of Boy Scouting.
